Activity in WHO : Dr Yumie Takeshita
Dr Yumie Takeshita worked at Global Hepatitis Programme in WHO Headquarters as the fourth secondee from Kanazawa University from August 2016 to August 2017. She had summarized hepatitis delta, prevention of mother to child transmission of hepatitis B, and pangenotypic regimens of hepatitis C.
The World Health Assembly in 2016 endorsed the Global Health Sector Strategy (GHSS) on viral hepatitis that calls for elimination of hepatitis as a public threat (i.e., -90% incidence and -65% mortality) by 2030, compared with the 2015 baseline. She contributed to the initial description of the viral hepatitis situation worldwide in 2015, before the implementation of the GHSS on viral hepatitis. This work was officially published as "GLOBAL HEPATITIS REPORT, 2017" in April 2017.
