Training Workshop on Hepatitis B and C
Dr Tetsuro Shimakami and Dr Tatsuya Yamashita attended to “Training Workshop on HBV and HCV Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment and HIV Co-infection 6-7 December 2017” in Bangkok, Thailand, as trainees.
This workshop was organized by TreatAsia and supported by two WHO collaborating centers from two different WHO regions. One is “Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, India” in WHO South East Asia Region. Another is our Kanazawa University in West Pacific Region. WHO officers from SEARO and WPRO also attended as organizers and trainees.
This was the first challenge to convene such workshop together with WPRO and SEARO.
About 40 Attendees were also from SEARO and WPRO,Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Phillipines, Thailand.
Dr Shimakami made lectures about clinical management of chronic HBV infection.
Dr Yamashita was about assessing of liver fibrosis.
This was also the first time to use our training modules for lecture. However, the modules have been modified to become out of WHO guidelines.
We have to think about modification of our original training modules reflect WHO guidelines.
