Release: Meeting report ”Informal Consultation on Access to Hepatitis Medicines in Upper-Middle-and High-Income Countries, Manila, Philippines”
Meeting report of "Informal Consultation on Access to Hepatitis Medicines in Upper-Middle-and High-Income Countries, Manila, Philippines", which was held from 21 to 22 August 2017 in Manila, was released.
Dr Terashima attended this meeting. The high cost of new hepatitis medicines remains the major barrier to upper-middle- and high-income countries because they do not benefit from generic hepatitis medicines at reduced prices. In this meeting, we shared the information about prices and negotiation strategies from each country and identified the several ways through joint negotiation, sharing of negotiation strategies, registration and monitoring of efficacy of new treatment, or building for negotiation skills to improve the access to hepatitis
