Meeting on the implementation of the regional action plan for viral hepatitis in the Western pacific region (Manila, Philippine)
Dr. Takeshi Terashima and Dr. Tatsuya Yamashita attended to “Meeting on the implementation of the regional action plan for viral hepatitis in the Western pacific region” convened in Manila.
WPRO has launched “Regional action plan for viral hepatitis in the Western Pacific 2016-2020” in 2016 and WHO headquarters has launched “Global health sector strategy on viral hepatitis 2016-2021” in 2016. The meeting is the mid-term review meeting to review the progresses in each country and discuss to wrap up what we should do toward 2020 and 2030 targets set in the action plan and the strategy.
In the meeting, we discussed the current status in each country on poster session and also discussed the current status in two group discussions divided into two days to summarize the content of discussion in key messages and recommendations for country, WHO and the partners. Dr. Yamashita facilitated one group discussion “Systems: Testing and linkages to treatment” with Dr. Naoko Ishikawa and Dr. Bharat Rewari (SEARO).
